Housing is an important political issue. Politicians and experts now talk about it as a major crisis that could threaten our economic and social well-being. But this is nothing new. Another housing crisis raged at the beginning of the 20th century.

2024 set to be hottest year on record as temperatures breach 1.5C threshold

This year is on track to beat 2023’s record heat, the World Meteorological Organisation said.

This year is on track to be the hottest on record, the UN’s World Meteorological Organisation said as it issued a “red alert” over climate change.

Generating power but flooding land loved by locals

After 11 weeks, the Site C dam reservoir in northeastern B.C. is now fully filled.

B.C. Hydro announced the process was complete on Nov. 7, having started in August.

One electricity generating unit has already started feeding into B.C.'s power grid, and another five are set to come online between now and the fall of 2025, increasing the province's power production capacity by an estimated eight per cent.

They can’t represent both.

The results of the 2024 election have confirmed a reality that is too frequently denied by Democratic Party leaders and strategists: The American working class is angry — and for good reason.

They want to know why the very rich are getting much richer, and the CEOs of major corporations make almost 300 times more than their average employees, while weekly wages remain stagnant and 60 percent of Americans live paycheck to paycheck.

Canada’s most iconic Zionist charity has days to disband

The Jewish National Fund of Canada had its bid to overturn the Canada Revenue Agency’s revocation of its charitable status dismissed by the Federal Court of Canada. The decision bolsters the CRA’s authority to revoke other Israel focused charities violating Canada’s Income Tax Act.

Stripped of context, visiting soccer fans getting drunk and causing havoc ahead of a big continental match in Europe would be so routine as to be almost unworthy of mention. But the hooligans in this instance were supporters of the Israeli soccer club Maccabi Tel Aviv, and the residents of Amsterdam weren't keen to their disruptive behavior, which meant that outlets like the New York Times and politicians like Joe Biden trained their focus on what happened and characterized it with their warped clarity.
